My Children, lately I have been receiving questions from you concerning sexual relations. Today I would like to share with you some things you need to consider if you and your partner decide to engage in sex.
The most important thing you have to understand is that the decision to have sex should be mutually agreed upon. You should feel confident to talk about sex with your partner before you have sex, and seek advice together or on your own around how to stay safe in your relationship. Sometimes you might feel pressured to have sex, but no-one should feel forced into having sex.
If you decide you want to have sex, make sure that you practice safe sex by always using condoms. This will not only protect you from getting pregnant but it will also prevent you from contracting a range of sexually transmitted infections. Another good practice is knowing your HIV status. HIV testing is conducted in almost every health facility by trained counselor.
If you may require further information on the things I have shared with you, visit your local YFHS clinic which is usually located at most health facilities. Please find out if there is one in your area." I hope this has been helpful.
